Miracles – Our Wonder Working God

Jesus is King so Follow Him and Live Under His Reign

Kingdom of Heaven/God
v.12 – “Repent for the kingdom of heaven at hand.”

Jesus
Kingdom
King – Jesus
People – those He calls, those who will participate with him
Reign – His people living under His reign

Creation Account – God creates the world (Kingdom), creates humanity in Adam and Eve (People), tells them to be fruitful and multiply and not to eat of the Tree of Good and Evil (live under His reign).

Exodus Account – God’s people are enslaved by the Egyptians, he sends Moses to deliver them from the hand of Pharaoh. After the plagues, Pharaoh releases the slaves, but pursues them to kill them. Red Sea opens Israel crosses on dry ground and closes up on Pharaoh’s army.

Exodus 15 is the song of Moses after the horse and rider event and he ends the song with this line…”The Lord will reign forever and ever.”

God is King, he has delivered His people…what is next?... God gives His people the 10 commandments to live under His reign.

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.” You shall have no other gods before me….” Exodus 20:2

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice; together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the Lord to Zion. Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem for the Lord has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Isaiah 52:7-10

Jesus Is King (v.17)
The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand! God the Father has sent His Son into this world to bring the Kingdom of God because this kingdom is ruined.

Follow Him (v.18-22)
v.18-22 – “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

This is a radical following! You will leave your livelihood and even your family to live under the rule and reign of King Jesus.

People – 12 disciples who follow Christ – who will live under His rule and reign.

Live Under His Reign (23-25)
v.23 – “And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.”

Jesus went about doing 3 things:
1) teaching
2) proclaiming
3) healing

But what about today? Are miracles still happening today? Why is not everyone healed?
Answer: The already, but not yet tension
